Maro Itoje is one of eight England internationals who could technically represent another country under World Rugby eligibility rules.
The England captain is as committed as they come, but previous comments about his Nigerian heritage have resurfaced after he once refused to completely close the door on the idea.
Asked whether he would ever represent Nigeria, Itoje previously replied: “Never say never.”
Under World Rugby’s Regulation 8, a capped player can switch nations if they complete a three-year stand-down period and qualify for the second country by birth, parent or grandparent. That does not mean any of these players are expected to leave England — but it does make for a fascinating list.
