Bath have reportedly launched a huge move to try and sign Harlequins fly-half Marcus Smith, according to the Mail Online.
The 21-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Lyon in the Top 14, will be out of contract in 2021 when his current three-year contract comes to an end.
Smith, who currently earns £230k per season, is one of the most exciting prospects in world rugby could potentially double his earning to around half a million with his next move.
Bath, who are desperately short of fly-halves, have seen moves for other high-profile fly-halves, such as Handre Pollard and Finn Russell, fail in recent times.
Smith became the second-youngest Premiership debutant in history, behind George Ford, when making his Harlequins bow against London Irish aged 18 years and 200 days in September 2017.
He was named as an apprentice in the England party for the Old Mutual Wealth series that autumn and continued in that role during the 2018 NatWest 6 Nations.
He featured for the England XV side that beat the Barbarians 51-43 at Twickenham in May 2019, scoring 26 of those points in a stand-out performance.
