A sellout crowd at The Rec witnessed a thrilling Gallagher Premiership clash as Bath Rugby hosted Sale Sharks in a match full of drama and skill.
Bath dominated early, with Henry Arundell touching down in the seventh minute, followed by Cameron Redpath in the twenty-sixth minute and Beno Obano in the thirty-sixth minute, giving Bath a commanding lead.
Ben Spencer’s flawless kicking — converting all three tries in the eighth, twenty-seventh and thirty-seventh minutes — saw Bath lead 21-9 at half time.
Sale fought back with a penalty from George Ford in the third minute and two drop goals in the twentieth and thirty-fourth minutes.
Ford’s second drop goal was the standout moment — an audacious, perfectly struck fifty-metre kick into a howling wind during Storm Amy, earning widespread praise as one of the season’s great kicks.
Sale came out strongly, with Nathan Jibulu scoring in the forty-ninth minute and Ford adding the conversion to close the gap.
However, Bath applied relentless pressure late in the game, and Max Ojomoh capped the effort with a stunning bonus-point try. Ben Spencer’s conversion sealed the bonus-point victory.

Talking to TNT Sports, Spencer said: "It is one for the purist. Fair play for these guys they gave it all for 80 minutes in the rain.
"It was a frustrating game Credit to Sale, I thought they were immense in defence, but we stuck at it right to the end and got the try we wanted.
"Tonight was about 1-23, we ourselves on the bench and I thought they came on and brought up the intensity."
