David Flatman calls for immediate law change - and everyone agrees

Prime Video commentator and pundit David Flatman has called for the controversial use of a ruck loophole to be banned with immediate effect.

The ‘ladder rucking’ technique sees players attaching to a ruck to form a single line of consecutive players, one after the next.

The technique effectively means the hind most of foot of the ruck is several metres away from the nearest opposition player, and thus give halfbacks space and time to kick at their leisure, sure in the knowledge defenders haven’t a chance of effecting a tackle.

Flatman's post on Twitter, which has been liked over 2,000 times, displays how sick fans are getting of the controversial tactic.

Farrell is reportedly trying to arrange a short-term loan move to the Top14, according to a source in France. With the start of the Championship up in the air, the Saracens star doesn’t want be sat idle between the conclusion of the Autumn Nations Cup (6th December, 2020) and the start of the 2021 Six Nations (6th February,2010). This certainly could happen.

3. Zach Mercer to Montpellier

Bath’s talismanic back-rower could be a shock departure next summer when his contract with the black, blue and whites expires. New Montpellier director of rugby Philippe Saint-Andre is understood to be a big fan of Mercer and has told The Daily Mail: “We are watching many players and Zach is one of them.”

With an England return looking unlikely, this could well happen.

4. Santiago Cordero to Wasps

One of the heroes of Argentina’s historic victory over New Zealand has been linked by The Rugby Paper with a move to Wasps. The fullback established himself as fan favourite during his time with Exeter Chiefs and will be a free agent next summer when his contract with Bordeaux-Begles expires. This move would make a lot of sense.

5. Marcus Smith to Bath

Bath's hunt for a top quality fly-half continues. The 21-year-old, who has also been linked with a move to Lyon in the Top 14, will be out of contract in 2021 when his current three-year contract comes to an end.Stuart Potter moved to deny this transfer rumour, but we think the deal could happen if the money is right.
