Speaking on the Outside Centre Podcast, the former Red Roses star bravely detailed the emotional rollercoaster of recent weeks — from endless hospital visits to the helplessness that comes with watching someone you love suffer.
“It’s been pretty awful, to be honest. My poor husband, bless him, has been diagnosed with a brain tumour.”
Despite the pain, Fleetwood praised the support from those around her and spoke powerfully about the challenges of being a pillar for someone going through serious illness.
“For me the hardest part is that, other than being there to support him, there isn’t really anything I can do.”
“Everyone around us is just being amazing and super helpful.”
With surgery ahead, she admitted there's a lot of uncertainty — but also gratitude.
“He’s really lucky that he’s able to get surgery. That’s the next thing that’s going to be happening.”
“He just keeps asking, ‘When am I going to be able to play rugby?’ and it’s like — there are bigger things at the moment. Let’s just focus on what you can do.”
