Ehren Painter, a former rugby player for Northampton Saints, was caught driving under the influence of alcohol twice over the legal limit.
After his conviction, he has since relocated to Exeter Chiefs. Court records show that on November 20th of last year, Painter was stopped by Northamptonshire Police while driving on The Terrace near Syresham, just outside of Brackley.
He recorded a blood alcohol level of 77 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.
Painter pleaded guilty at Northampton Magistrates' Court on January 23rd and was fined £1,000, as well as ordered to pay a £400 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.
He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.
The 25-year-old tighthead, born in London, had represented England at Under-16s, Under-17s, and Under-18s.

Ireland will face England at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday 19th August in the second match of the Bank of Ireland Nations Series.
The match has been scheduled to act as a warm-up for Rugby World Cup 2023, which gets underway in France the following month.
To date, Ireland and England have played each other on 140 occasions since their first meeting in 1875. England have won 80 of those matches, whilst Ireland have won 52 matches. There have also been eight drawn matches between the two nations.
England v Fiji
Date: Saturday 26th August 2023
Venue: Twickenham Stadium, London
Kick-off: 2:00pm
The most recent encounter between the two sides came during the 2016 Autumn Internationals, when England scored nine tries to beat Fiji 58-15 at Twickenham.
Overall, England and Fiji have played each other on seven previous occasions. England maintain a 100% record having won every match.
