Shaunagh Brown has informed Harlequins that she has opted to retire from rugby with immediate effect.
Joining the Club in 2016, Brown has gone on to earn 80 appearances in the Famous Quarters.
In 2017 Brown went on to earn her Test debut for England’s national team, earning 30 Test caps and representing her country at the 2021 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Brown is available for selection for the 27 December fixture against Bristol Bears at The Stoop.
England’s Red Roses Jobs Outside Rugby – Firefighter, Occupational Therapist, Personal Trainer

Most England male players are usually set for life once they make the big time, but most members of the England Women's team have worked multiple jobs and are building for a future once they retire.
A number of the older players had to work part-time to support their careers, and England legend Sarah Hunter hopes they will be the last generation to do so.
Here is a look at the Red Roses jobs outside of rugby.
#1. Shaunagh Brown
It has been an incredible rise to international rugby for the forward, who only properly started playing the game at the age of 25 and two years later she had her first international cap.
Before rugby, she had a career in athletics, where she represented England in the hammer throw at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and a stint in boxing.
A qualified fire-fighter, she is also a former gas engineer and qualified commercial diver.
#2. Vicky Cornborough
Outside of rugby, Cornborough continues to work as an IT Business Development Manager.
#3. Lydia Thompson
Thompson worked as an occupational therapist for 2gether NHS Foundation Trust and applied to return to the NHS in April 2020 after the outbreak of COVID-19. Her husband, Tom, is also an occupational therapist
#4. Natasha Hunt
The scrum-half is a qualified teacher and previously trained at King Edward's School Birmingham in PE, before teaching at Sir Graham Balfour School in Stafford, also as a PE teacher.
#5. Hannah Botterman
The prop previously worked as both a waitress and a painter and decorator – roles she juggled simultaneously with appearances for top rugby union club Saracens and England.
#6. Harriet Millar-Mills
She studied Sports Technology at Loughborough University. She is a maths teacher at Tudor Hall School.
#7. Vicky Fleetwood
The flanker is a qualified personal trainer and is passionate about fitness and nutrition
