England have spent a week in Jersey for an extended training camp to prepare for the fast approaching Autumn Nations Series.

The 34 man squad have been based at Jersey Reds ground and will also use the Strive high performance facility for their training.

A fan who attended the opening training session today snapped an almost perfect image of the England captains trademark high tackle.

Farrell hits in a ‘rugby league style’, which involves tackling upright with a rapidly swinging shoulder, in which the arm wraps around late.

While it can bounce players if executed correctly, there is a high degree of danger if he gets it wrong, which has happened on more than one occasion…

One fan wrote: "Bit of a high shot there from faz but then again what's new."

Another, in a bit more dramatic fashion, commented: "DROP FAZ HE IS TO DANGEROUS HE GONNA SERIOUSLY HURT SOMEONE."

Joe Marler pulled out of the session half-way through with what looked like a knock while Maro Itoje and Courtney Lawes trained later on their own.

Fly-half Marcus Smith was also conspicuous by his absence.

Fresh after his two recent appearances for Ngati Porou East Coast in New Zealand’s Heartland Championship, Nonu has announced his return to Major League Rugby by re-signing with the San Diego Legion.

#2. Shane Williams (Wales)

The Wales legend made a return to Welsh rugby in 2017, coming out of retirement to play for his beloved Amman United. The former Wales and British Lions star stunned spectators as he took the field for his home town side in the National League 3 West B match against Burry Port.

He then played for them in a final at the Millenium Stadium. He's since played a further handful of games for the club.

Honours: Australia, 103 caps

He had all but decided to retire when his final season for Suntory Sungoliath ended suddenly in March once Japan’s 2020 Top League season was cancelled because of the COVID-19 outbreak. However, he has since been tempted back onto the rugby field by the LA Giltinis.

Honours: Wales, 33 caps, Lions, 1 cap

The Wales legend could realise his dream of playing in a Rugby World Cup after unexpectedly switching to rugby league. The former union icon, released by the Dragons at the end of the 2018-19 season, has joined 13-a-side club West Wales Raiders.
