"Impact signing" - Newcastle Red Bulls set to re-sign former academy star

RugbyPass claim the Falcons have tabled an offer worth around £275,000 per year to tempt the 25-year-old back to the North East ahead of next season.

Hodge, who came through Preston North End’s academy, is out of contract this summer and has already held talks with Newcastle over a potential return. The versatile back enjoyed a strong campaign, earning England A caps against an All Blacks XV and Spain.

But he may not be the only name on Newcastle’s radar.

Transfer guru Neil Fissler has also linked Saracens winger Brandon Jackson with a move to Kingston Park. The outside centre has impressed this season, scoring against the Red Bulls in both the Premiership and the Premiership Rugby Cup.

With recruitment already underway, Newcastle look set for a busy off-season as they target proven Premiership talent.
