Ireland inched closer to securing back-to-back Six Nations Grand Slams with a gritty bonus-point victory over a determined Welsh squad in Dublin.

Dan Sheehan's early try coupled with a James Lowe score propelled the hosts to a 17-0 lead at halftime, showcasing their dominance in the opening half.

Despite Wales' resurgence with a penalty try and Ireland's Tadhg Beirne being sidelined with a sin-bin, Ciaran Frawley's crucial contribution calmed Irish fans' nerves before Beirne sealed the bonus point.

With this triumph, Ireland matched England's Six Nations record of 11 consecutive wins and are poised to emulate France's 1998 feat of consecutive Grand Slams.

Though Wales suffered their third consecutive defeat, their resilience defied expectations, proving they were not easily overpowered as anticipated.

15. Ciaran Frawley - 7.5

Opening inclusion was a neat carry at halfway, and sent a missed pass to Calvin Nash. Scored a try at 66 minute, as he picked a great line from close range and arrowed through for the score.

14. Calvin Nash - 6.5

Great assist for James Lowe try on the half hour mark, achieved the try despite being nailed by Josh Adams. A solid performance from the exciting wing who continues to grow from strength to strength. (Off - Stuart McCloskey - 66')

13. Robbie Henshaw - 7.5

Putting boot to ball early on the left wing, and knocked the ball on in the little flick ahead of Bundee Aki’s try. A solid effort on the attack, as he carried well and kept the Welsh defenders on their toes.

12. Bundee Aki - 7.75

The Player of the Match on the day, with an early carry, clattered into Wales Josh Adam. Worked his socks off on the front foot, yet squandered an opportunity to cross over the gain-line at nine minutes. Pinned his ears back with 2nd half carries and had his try chalked off despite powering through two men.

11. James Lowe.- 7

Beats two men on his first carry, and was scragged around his neck by Nick Tompkins. 27th minute fantastic carry, as he battled through four Welsh men to be held up. Scored his try at 30 mins, simple finish out wide and lapped it up.

10. Jack Crowley - 7.5

Nailed his first shot at the posts for early lead, and contributed good cross field kicks. Seamlessly changed the direction to strike the 3 on 2, and capitalise on the advantage with Nash and Lowe for the second Ireland try. Great kicks downfield for territory, a star in the making.

9. Jamison Gibson-Park - 7.5

Great ball distribution finding the right man, nice option for the clever front ball at the line-out. Forward pass at 27 minutes, as Ireland went on the break and could have scored. Flew up on Tomos Williams to make tackle at back of scrum and pressure the Welsh 5m line. 34th minute gave away a pen at the ruck, playing the scrum half - too eager. Great speed of attack for Aki’s (dissallowed) try and wonderful pass to Frawley for Ireland’s 3rd try. (Off - Conor Murray 70)

1. Andrew Porter - 7

Seventh minute wins the turnover at the break down and gives a big cheer. So dominant in the scrum, wins 1v1 battle v Asseratti for penalty at 17 minutes. Threw a boot at 46 minute, and got in a tussle for doing so. Penalised at the scrum 71, as he was outdone for wheeling. (Off - Cian Healy 72')

2. Dan Sheehan - 7

Clever front ball line out with Gibson-Park, made a big carry following the lineout move. 16th minute scrum time pen, Ireland play advantage and moved into a solid position. 20th minute try, grounded the rolling maul. Solid score, yet a couple of missed line-outs. (Off - Ronan Kelleher - 54')

3. Tadhg Furlong - 7

Gave away first penalty of the match, offside at the line with van Der flier. Huge scrum effort with Van Der Flier, forced Wales to collapse in the wheel to win the penalty. 38th minute absolutely flattened a Welsh player. (Off - Oli Jager - 54')

4. Joe McCarthy - 6

Chpped down hard early on with a heavy hit, but gave some key efforts in the set-piece. Not his best day in the air with some missed line-out catches Unforced penaty - not 2m in line-out 38th minute. Gave away pen at the line-out, as he touched the player in the air at 51 minutes. (Off - James Ryan 55')

5. Tadhg Beirne - 7

Solid in the air, unfased after initial set piece hinderance and set the base for 20th min try. 40th minute, great little break from 2nd half kick off. Changed his bind on Wales 42nd maul drive, which gave away the Penalty Try and sent him to the sin bin. Scored the try to close out the game. Supported the last Irish push for the try line and got his name on the scoresheet and redemption after yellow card.

6. Peter O’Mahony - 6

Knock on in the air at 18 minutes, and showed some clever gamesmanship. He pulled Alex Mann into the ruck to win a penalty. Solid effort in the back row and made the hard yards. (Off - Ryain Baird 55')

7. Josh van der Flier - 7

Great effort on the offensive, and helped to halt the Welsh mauls on the defensive foot. 40’ too relaxed on the deck, not rolling away gives away pen. Some monstrous hits and big carriers, paved the way for his teammates. Off for the HIA at 50 minutes (Jack Conan).

8. Caelan Doris - 7

Relentless ball carrying and pursuing the ball over the gain-line. Work ethic was unnmatched, as he picked his teammates up when the going was tough against Wales.
