Stuart Hogg’s Divorce Finalised as Ex-Wife Secures Generous Settlement

Gillian Hogg, 38, has returned to her birth name, Smith, following the split from the 33-year-old — who previously admitted a five-year campaign of abuse against the mum of four.

Public records show the divorce was formally completed at Jedburgh Sheriff Court, though no details of the financial settlement have been released.

A source told The Scottish Sun last night: “Gillian is supposedly happy with the divorce settlement and even more happy to be rid of him.

"She suffered for years because of him. So now it’s done and dusted, she can finally wash her hands of him and move on in her life.”

The pair had been separated for two years before the divorce was finalised.

Meanwhile, their former five-bedroom home in Hawick, Roxburghshire, has been on the market since April. Despite a £25,000 reduction from the original £875,000 asking price, it has yet to find a buyer.

Gillian has only commented once, following her domestic abuse case against Stuart. She said: 'Thank you to every single person who has reached out to me in ways of love, kindness and support. Who have text, messaged, called, visited, sent flowers.

'Who gave me a hi, a smile, a hug or even just a look to show they care.

'My friends and family have picked me up and carried me through this all and I'll be grateful forever for them all.

'I have been completely overwhelmed this week especially. The abundance of support and love has swamped me in the most positive way. Thank you.

'Now it's time to start my next chapter.

'To move on and to keep showing my kids every day that strength comes from unconditional love and support around you, and even when it hurts, love wins.'

Former England rugby international Ben Cohen and his ex-wife, Abby Blayney, divorced in March 2016 after 13 years together. They share twin daughters born in 2008.
