URC Play-Offs: Top Eight Confirmed as Quarter-Finals are locked in

The race to the eight has crossed the finish line, as the BKT United Rugby Championship is now firmly in knock-out territory. Eight of the very best sides from Ireland, South Africa, Scotland, and Wales have sealed their place in the Quarter-Finals, set for May 30th and 31st.

A dramatic final weekend saw the standings fall into place, with Leinster, Vodacom Bulls, Hollywoodbets Sharks and Glasgow Warriors securing home advantage from finishing in the top four. The full play-off bracket promises three tantalising cross-hemisphere clashes and no shortage of storylines.

The Road Ahead

Winners of QF1 and QF4 will meet in the first Semi-Final, with QF2 and QF3 victors clashing in the second, both scheduled for June 7. The Grand Final will take place on June 14, crowning the 2025 BKT URC champions.

Top Seed Curse?

Leinster may have finished top of the pile, but history warns against early celebrations. No No.1 ranked team has ever gone on to win the URC title. In fact, the past three champions were underdogs: Glasgow (4th in 2024), Munster (5th in 2023), and DHL Stormers (2nd in 2022).

As the play-offs approach, one thing is certain: form counts for nothing now. The race is over, but the real battle has just begun.
