Saracens are reportedly closing in on a stunning move for Wales captain Jac Morgan, with the Prem giants now favourites to secure his signature when his Welsh Rugby Union contract expires at the end of the season.

According to

RugbyPass, the 25-year-old met with Saracens officials on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after being named Wales skipper for the autumn internationals, which kick off against Argentina on 9 November.

? Welsh rugby faces another huge blow

Jac Morgan’s future has become a lightning-rod issue in Welsh rugby’s ongoing turmoil. At a recent Ospreys fans’ forum, it was revealed that the flanker has told the WRU he will leave Wales if the Ospreys are among the two regions reportedly facing the axe under the union’s controversial restructuring plans.

Ospreys head coach Mark Jones heaped praise on his captain’s loyalty, telling the BBC:

“Jac has got a hell of a lot of integrity. He hasn’t said that to me officially [about the Ospreys], but if he has, that shows how much he loves the Ospreys and his teammates. He’s got to be commended for that.”

He added:

“Welsh rugby and the Ospreys would love to have Jac in this team for many years. The team would be better for it.”

Jac Morgan’s reputation has rocketed even further following his outstanding summer with the British & Irish Lions in Australia.

Selected for his maiden Lions tour, the openside flanker produced a string of eye-catching displays — including a Player-of-the-Match performance against the Queensland Reds, where he racked up 21 tackles, three turnovers, nine carries for 49 metres, and a try.

He later came off the bench in the second Test win at the MCG, playing a pivotal role in the Lions’ comeback and drawing plaudits for his breakdown dominance and relentless work-rate. Coaches and pundits alike hailed him as one of the tour’s breakout stars, with many tipping him for a starting Test berth in future series.
