SIGNED: Eddie Jones adds new coach to his backroom team

Wasps have confirmed that Martin Gleeson will be leaving the Club to join the England senior coaching set-up as Attack Coach.

The former Rugby League star initially joined Wasps as Assistant Attack Coach ahead of the 2019/20 season. When Lee Blackett became Men’s Head Coach, Gleeson then took charge of Attack, whilst also supporting the wider coaching team to help achieve the rugby department’s goals.

Men’s Head Coach Lee Blackett said: “Glees has been an important part of our coaching team for the last few seasons and we’ve all really enjoyed working with him.

“As a Club we want our players to play international rugby and that principle doesn’t change for our staff. We wish him and his family all the best for the future and with this exciting new opportunity with England.”

Gleeson added: “I would like to thank everyone at Wasps and, in-particular, Lee Blackett & Ian Costello, who made me feel incredibly welcome and worked hard helping me with my transition from League.

“I’d also like to thank the players and staff who have been a pleasure to work with over the last couple of years.

“Lee has built a great culture at the Club that will see the players and staff thrive, and I wish them all the best for the upcoming season.”
