STATEMENT: Exeter Chiefs issue injury update on four England stars

Exeter Chiefs boss Rob Baxter is confident Jack Nowell, Luke Cowan-Dickie and Jonny Hill should all be available to England head coach Eddie Jones this summer.

Hooker Cowan-Dickie suffered a knee injury during England’s Guinness Six Nations victory over Wales in February, while wing Nowell broke his arm in the tournament finale against France just over 10 weeks ago.

Lock Hill, who will join Exeter’s Gallagher Premiership rivals Sale next season, has not played since early January due to a stress fracture of his lower leg.

Baxter said: “Nowellsy is in contention to play this weekend.

“Luke, Jack and Jonny all should both be in contention to play in England’s summer tour.”

However, Sam Simmonds, who has had surgery on a hip/groin injury, and Henry Slade are both set to be unavailable.

Fans pick their England XV for summer tour
