Sale Sharks have pulled off a major coup by signing Harlequins hooker Nathan Jibulu on a long-term deal ahead of next season.
The 22-year-old, who has made seven Premiership appearances for Quins this season, is also a key member of the England Under-20 squad – but now, he’s heading north to fulfill a childhood dream.
Jibulu couldn’t hide his excitement about joining the Sharks, admitting it was always his dream club:
"When I was younger, whenever someone asked me, 'what team would you want to play for?' I'd always say Sale," he revealed.
The physical, no-nonsense style of play at Sale was a huge draw for the young hooker:
"I love those games where you go toe-to-toe physically… it was a no-brainer when the opportunity came about," Jibulu added.
"A future England star?"
Sale’s director of rugby, Alex Sanderson, couldn’t be more excited about his latest recruit – and he’s tipping Jibulu for international honours.
"Nathan is a young lad but he's incredibly mature, and he's got the game and the physical attributes to match," Sanderson said.
"I've got no doubt he'll play for England in the future, and we're really excited to bring him to the club."
