TRANSFER NEWS |Leicester Tigers fan favourite set for shock departure

Leicester Tigers are set to lose two more stars with The Rugby Paper reporting that fullback Telusa Veainu and lock Tomas Lavanini are set to depart.

The article from Neil Fissler suggests a number of players are on the verge of leaving Welford Road after players reacted badly to pay cuts that would be implemented from next season.

Veainu, who was linked with a move to Northampton Saints last season, has already received a number of offers from Japan.

The Tonga international joined the club following some impressive performances at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, with the 29-year-old quickly becoming a fan favourite.

Meanwhile, Argentina powerhouse Lavanini, who only joined after the 2019 World Cup, is also expected to leave the club for a bigger contract elsewhere.

The 55-cap Argentina hooker has been linked with a move to the Gallagher Premiership ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Players at the Jaguares have reportedly been told by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) that they are free to take up offers from offshore clubs to continue playing rugby.

The hooker, who has been linked with a move to Welford Road by Rugby Inside Line, was one of the Pumas star performers at the 2019 Rugby World Cup, scoring four tries, which included a terrific hat-trick against Tonga.
