TRANSFER NEWS | Northampton set to sign powerhouse prop

London Irish prop Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi is understood to be on his way back to Saints, according to the Northampton Chronicle.

He left Franklin’s Gardens to move to the Exiles in 2016, and has developed into one of the Gallagher Premiership’s finest scrummagers.

The 26-year-old will now be heading back to Saints, where he will compete with Alex Waller, Francois van Wyk, Nick Auterac and Manny Iyogun for a starting berth.

Prominent at age grade level, having lifted the Junior World Championship with England in 2013 and 2014, Hobbs-Awoyemi was regarded as one of the brightest young props in the country.

He officially retired from rugby last month and is now managing director of green technology company Pure-EV
