Declan Treacey will captain the England Under-18s against France at Chinnor on Saturday, before older brother Connor Treacey leads the England Under-20s in La Rochelle on Sunday.

Both players began their rugby journeys at New Milton RFC in the New Forest, Hampshire, where their love for the game first developed.

Their father, Brendan Treacey, will be watching proudly from the stands at both matches.

“It’s an absolute dream,” he said. “To have two brothers playing for England, let alone captaining, is crazy.”

Rugby runs deep in the Treacey household, with the family heavily involved in the sport.

“They’ve got a younger brother, Oscar, who is in the Under-15s at both New Milton and Bath, and he’s very keen to push on,” Brendan added.

“I think years of dragging them up to the rugby club and them sitting there half asleep watching games — and then helping out with coaching — probably got them going.

“The rest their coaches at Bath and England have done, I suppose.”
