Brad Shields must be handed his England debut against South Africa, says Andy Goode
Writing his column for Rugby Pass, Goode was adamant that Shields was the man to spearhead England’s back-row in the first Test on June 9 as they go in search of a first series victory on South African soil.
‘The controversy has been widespread and public but England’s back row needs freshening up and he’s in the squad, so has to start for me.’ wrote Goode.
‘He brings leadership, something England badly need, and will improve the side.’
