Austin Healey names Lions XV for first Test

England fullback Mike Brown has been named in Austin Healey’s Lions XV for the first test despite not currently being in the 40-man squad.

The ex-England international named his XV as the Telegraphs’ expert writers each made a selection.

“Mike Brown isn’t in the squad but if the Lions are playing a Warren Gatland style of rugby then he goes straight into my Test team – there is no-one left in the squad who is as dependable and solid at full-back as he is.” wrote Healey.

“I’ve also gone for a really big pack, with Iain Henderson at flanker, on the basis that the most successful team against the All Blacks are usually South Africa, who base their game on physicality up front.”
