BREAKING: England star sent off for moment of madness in World Cup final

England winger Lydia Thompson was dismissed in the Rugby World Cup final against the Black Ferns following a moment of madness.

One fan wrote: “By the laws that’s the right call but I am absolutely devastated for Lydia Thompson,”

“Five tries and a red card in the first 24 minutes? My heart rate is through the roof come on,” said a second.

A third said: “Had to be a red card, but shame it may have wrecked the game. 60 mins with 14 players is going to be tough.”

“I’m all for protecting players from head injuries but a red card for a coming together in a tackle, certainly not reckless or malicious,is ruining the game,” commented a fourth.
