“Declined” – England star escapes citing for shoving opponent in the face

England second row Jonny Hill has escaped a citing for shoving an Australian opponent in the face in Saturday’s first Test defeat.

The citing officer has declined to trigger disciplinary proceedings against Hill after deciding his shove to the head was not a red-card offence.

Scott Barrett and Owen Farrell also bot seemingly escaped the wrath of the citing officers

Three players who could have been easily cited today – including Owen Farrell

We take a look at three incidents that were missed by match officials during the opening weekend of the 2022 summer internationals.

#1. Scott Barrett (New Zealand)

The All Blacks back-row clearly slams his shoulder near the head of Peter O’Mahony as the stand-in Ireland captain attempted to advance the ball for the visitors. Barrett does not use his arms for the tackle with the Ireland back-rowers neck buckling under the weight of the tackle. A shocker.
