Eddie Jones confirms replacement for injured Anthony Watson

It’s been confirmed that England winger Anthony Watson will miss their Autumn Nations Series campaign after suffering a serious knee injury against Saracens.

The injury could potentially rule the full-back out for up to nine months. Despite initial reports suggesting Louis Lynagh would replace the speedster, his Harlequins teammate Joe Marchant was instead called up.

Exeter Chiefs hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie has also been forced to withdraw from the squad with Jamie George being called up for next week’s training camp in Jersey.

Eddie Jones has included four uncapped players. Nic Dolly and Tommy Freeman receive their first call-ups, alongside Mark Atkinson and Raffi Quirke who joined up with the squad last month for a short training camp.
