England have been forced into a late squad change ahead of Saturday’s Nations Championship showdown with Argentina after Asher Opoku-Fordjour was ruled out through concussion.
According to The Telegraph, the Sale Sharks prop failed a Head Injury Assessment after taking a knock during training this week and has been withdrawn from Steve Borthwick’s matchday 23.

George Kloska recalled to the bench
With Opoku-Fordjour unavailable, George Kloska comes back onto the replacements bench despite managing a back issue during the week.
The Gloucester tighthead had his training load reduced because of a tight back but has been passed fit to provide front-row cover after making his England debut in last weekend’s emphatic victory over Fiji.
Emotional return denied
The injury is a particularly cruel blow for Opoku-Fordjour, who had been set to make his first appearance in Argentina since being subjected to racist abuse during England’s 2025 tour.
The 20-year-old was warming up to come off the bench during the second Test in San Juan when he was targeted by a section of the home crowd. Fellow England forward Chandler Cunningham-South was also racially abused during the same match.
The incident was not made public immediately, but England lodged an official complaint with World Rugby. An investigation later identified between five and seven individuals believed to have been responsible.
