England prop Joe Marler edges closer to unwanted international rugby record

England prop Joe Marler is set to resume his international career this Autumn after opting out of the 2021 Six Nations.

The loosehead-prop, who scored on his Lions debut, has never crossed the whitewash for England and could move up the rankings of the most capped players to never score.

Eddie Jones has hinted that the 31-year-old will return to the England forward for the Autumn Nations Series, which will be broadcast by Amazon Prime Video.

Most recently leapfrogging Wales lock Bradley Davies into fifth spot, the loosehead prop has a chance to continue his pursuit of this unwanted record after being selected by Eddie Jones for the Autumn Nations Cup. Despite never scoring for England, the 29-year-old did actually cross the whitewash in one of his two appearances for British & Irish Lions in 2017.
