Henry Pollock has revealed his desire to represent Great Britain Sevens at the 2028 Olympics.
The Northampton Saints and England flanker has previously spoken about his interest in featuring at the Games and has now reiterated that it is something he would like to pursue during his career.
Still only 21, Pollock has already made a huge impact on the rugby world.
His breakthrough has seen him make his England debut, become the youngest player to score a Six Nations try for England, tour with the British and Irish Lions last summer and help Northampton win the Gallagher PREM.
Pollock has also become one of the most recognisable young players in the game, both on and off the pitch.
His outspoken personality has divided opinion, while his recent move to Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Talent Agency further highlights his growing profile.
He is one of only two rugby players represented by the agency, alongside Scotland fly-half Finn Russell.
There had been some speculation over Pollock's future at Saints, but he has since committed his future to the club with a contract extension, first reported by RUCK, which will keep him at Franklin's Gardens until at least 2029.
That means Pollock could potentially feature at both the 2027 Rugby World Cup and the 2028 Olympics during his new contract.
Speaking on his new YouTube channel during a Q&A, Pollock was asked about his ambitions for the next few years, with the World Cup the immediate priority.
"We've got the World Cup coming up next year, so that will be big. Hopefully we do really well in that tournament. After that, just see how my career goes and keep enjoying my rugby.
"That's the main thing for me, I love playing this game, I love playing this sport, I love playing in front of you guys [fans] and for me, it's just something I love to do."
Pollock was then asked whether representing Great Britain at the Olympics remains an ambition.
His interest in a potential switch to sevens has previously been revealed by Eddie Hearn, and the England star confirmed that it is still something he wants to achieve.
"Hopefully. I don't know yet how it will work but it's definitely something that I want to do in my career. Seeing what Antoine Dupont did in the last Olympics, it's definitely given me some motivation to go out and play.
"I just need to take it step-by-step and hope that it all fits in place and naturally happens. But, definitely, that's something that I'm aspiring to do."
France scrum-half Antoine Dupont famously stepped away from the 15-a-side game for several months to focus on sevens ahead of Paris 2024.
His decision paid off, with France defeating two-time Olympic champions Fiji on home soil to win gold.
However, there is currently no guarantee that Great Britain Sevens will even qualify for the 2028 Olympics after missing out on the Paris Games.
The qualification process begins this season, with four places available through the 2027 SVNS World Championship standings, six through regional qualification and the final spot decided by a repechage in June 2028.
The United States qualify automatically as hosts.
Great Britain are also no longer part of the eight-team top tier of SVNS, meaning qualification is far from guaranteed.
Should they reach the Olympics, there could be several talented XVs players interested in making the switch to sevens.
However, any decision to bring in established stars such as Pollock would likely have to be carefully considered given the players who helped Great Britain secure qualification in the first place.
