England to deploy Danny Cipriani in new position against Barbarians

Danny Cipriani has been given a chance to show what value he offers as a full-back after being named in that position in a 35-man England training squad for the Quilter Cup match against the Barbarians at Twickenham on Sunday.

The fly-half, who joins Gloucester this summer, has been designated as a full back for the clash with the Barbarians at Twickenham on Sunday.

Eddie Jones hinted at such a strategy when announcing his touring party.

The England head coach has long aired his desire to broaden the full-back talent pool, with only Bath’s Anthony Watson, an accomplished wing in his own right, a credible alternative to Mike Brown.
