The draw has been confirmed for the Round of 16 for the EPCR Challenge Cup, with the knock-out stage set to commence upon Friday 3rd April. Along with the Champions Cup, European club rugby competitions now takes a brief hiatus until after 2026 Guinness Men's Six Nations.
Two sides from Gallagher PREM Rugby remain in the competition, as
Exeter Chiefs and
Newcastle Red Bulls seek to win the trophy that is currently held by their domestic rivals Bath. Following the conclusion of the EPCR Challenge Cup pool stages this past weekend, the top four clubs from the three groups move on to the knock-out stage, where they are joined by the four Champions Cup teams that finished fifth in their respective pools.
The Sharks, Munster, La Rochelle and Pau all drop down into the Challenge Cup, in the hopes of keeping alive their goals of a European trophy this season. The Sharks won the 2024 Challenge Cup trophy, and in doing so became the first South African team to collect a piece of traditionally 'European' silverware. So, with the pool stages confirmed at their final standings and the draw complete for the knock-out stage, here is how the remaining 16 teams line-up for the next round of the EPCR Challenge Cup.
