Former England scrum-half Dan Robson has been ruled out for six weeks for his Top 14 club Section Paloise, after suffering a fractured fibula (calf injury). The 33-year-old racked up 140 minutes for Pau in the opening two rounds of the 2025/26 Top 14 season.
Robson impressed early, scoring a try against Stade Français and providing an assist for Pau in the away victory at Castres. However, the former Wasps No.9 will now undergo treatment and is targeting a return to training in early November.
Robson’s absence will test the squad’s depth, but head coach Sébastien Piqueronies will be boosted by the return of long-serving captain Thibault Daubagna. Daubagna made his France debut this summer on the tour of New Zealand and resumed training later than his teammates after the international duty.
Having featured from the bench in the second round of the championship, the Béarnais talisman is now set for his first start of the season in Saturday’s trip to Clermont. While Pau lose the creativity and control of Robson, the leadership of Daubagna offers timely reassurance as the side look to maintain their momentum in the early stages of the Top 14 season.
