“Future captain” – Eddie Jones’ five most disappointing England call-ups

From Curry and Underhill to Itoje and Genge – Eddie Jones has beena dept at calling up the perfect players all over the pitch since taking over in 2015.

But not all of them came off…

We take a look at some of those players Jones called up since taking over in December 2015, and using the Aussies own words we try to understand why they never established themselves as fans once hoped.

#1. Alex Goode

He’s been one of the standout players in the Gallagher Premiership throughout the last decade.

However, it has never really worked out at international level with Eddie Jones not even considering him despite the numerous trophies he’s won with Sarries and the fact he was crowned European player of the year in 2019.

Rumours suggest that Jones and Goode fell out after the fullback questioned the Aussies tactics.

Where is he now? Back with Sarries for their return to the Gallagher Premiership following a decent stint in Japan

Did you know? He is the nephew of Jo Goode, who won an Olympic bronze in Badminton in Sydney.
