With the Gallagher Premiership back in full swing, these five players were far from their best this weekend.
1. Coenie Oosthuizen (Sale Sharks)
Felt the pressure of the burly Exeter Chiefs scrum as the Sharks were humbled 32-22 by the title-favourites at the AJ Bell Stadium on Friday night. Although he was tireless in the loose, set-piece inferiority hurt Sale badly with Oosthuizen costing his team four penalties.
2. Louis Rees-Zammit (Gloucester)
The teenage wing sensation was filling in at fullback to accommodate Thorley and May on the wings as the Cherry & Whites were beat 33-24 by Bristol Bears at Kingsholm on Friday evening. Lasting just 66 minutes, the 19-year-old managed to make just 17 metres from his two carries while in defence he failed to make a single tackle. A tough day at the office.
3. Alex Dombrandt (Harlequins)
It doesn't feel long ago that pundits were pushing for an England call-up, but the 23-year-old has had a tough return to rugby. During Harlequins 38-24 defeat against Saracens on Saturday, he was schooled by his opposite number Billy Vunipola, who made 32 metres from an impactful 18 carries. Dombrandt will learn from this and come back stronger.
4. Tomas Lavanini (Leicester Tigers)
The Argentina international was one of the more experienced starters as a youthful Leicester were comprehensively beaten 38-16 by Bath at Welford Road. Conceding three penalties and missing two tackles summed up an underwhelming performance.
5. Paddy Jackson (London Irish)
Hailed as world-class by team-mate Ben Meehan earlier this week, the 28-year-old was far from his best as London Irish were thumped 27-3 by Northampton Saints. The fly-half struggled to manage the game and cost his team four turnovers while also making just one metre from his four carries.
