England face Wales in the 2022 Six Nations on Saturday afternoon and Joe Marler will be looking for his first international try at the 74th time of asking.
The 31-year-old, who made his test debut on a summer tour of South Africa a decade ago, is determined to lose his unwanted record of most caps without a try for the men in white.
Marler actually scored on one of his five (non-test) appearances against the British & Irish Lions in 2017.
“I need rid of tat record,” said Marler. “Why don’t they put me on the wing or at the back of a maul.”
Graham Rowntree is second on the list with 57 caps Julian White (51), Tom Wood (50) and Matt Stevens (44) making up the complete top five.
With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of five unwanted England records players would rather forget.
#1. Most carded player: James Haskell – 6
No England player has been carded more than the entertaining flanker, who spent an entire hour of his international career in the sin-bin.
