As the 20th anniversary of England’s Rugby World Cup triumph approaches, fans have been speculating about whether some of the stars of that team have “beef” with each other.
The rumours started when Matt Dawson and Lawrence Dallaglio made their dream team selections, with each player snubbing the other in their respective lineups.
In an interview on the Big Jim show, Dallaglio denied that his selection was influenced by Dawson’s snub.
One fan took to Twitter to ask, “Have they got beef? Dallaglio snubbed Dawson and England from his all-time XV.”
Another fan commented, “He seems petty. Comments that Wilkinson didn’t put him in his XV before controversially picking Owen Farrell.”
A third fan added, “Dallaglio must have a delicate ego. It’s disappointing to see him snubbing his former teammates like this.”
It remains to be seen whether these snubs are a sign of deeper animosity between the former teammates or simply a case of differing opinions on who makes the cut for an all-time XV.
