“Honestly I’m in disbelief” – France star gets away with ‘red card’ clearout against Wales

France forward Thibaud Flament was lucky to escape further punishment for this ugly looking clearout against Wales in Cardiff.

The visitors kept alive their dreams of a first Grand Slam and Six Nations title since 2010 with a tense 13-9 victory at the Principality.

One moment of contention spotted during the game was this ugly looking clearout by Flament in the second-half.

Fabien Galthie’s side will aim to complete the Grand Slam against England next Saturday in Paris, while Wales host Italy in their final game.

It was a third defeat in four matches for Wayne Pivac’s defending champions alongside a narrow victory over Scotland.

France dodged a card with that tip tackle. Doubt given point of contact it would have been red. But highly likely yellow card. Although Carley has also rewarded/ignored Wales’ indiscipline in the past. So it’s difficult to feel too hard done by. #WALvFRA

The scrappiest france have been in a long time but their most important win for years. Didn't lose it mentally, didn't cop a red card (alto that tip tackle will get cited ? ) and came away with the w. Unfortunately for england that was probably their rubbish match for the year

The England captain, also known as ‘Shoulder boy’ for his high tackling, does himself no favours with his poor tackling technique. The fact he often seems to get away with it doesn’t help either.
