Saracens face a nervous wait over the fitness of Maro Itoje after the England lock was taken to hospital Sunday with a facial injury.
Itoje was forced off in the 48th minute of his side’s 20-19 defeat to Harlequins with blood pouring from a cut to his mouth.
The club’s director of rugby Mark McCall said: “Maro has gone to hospital with a facial injury, so we’ll get an update in the next 24 hours.
They are nine points behind leaders Exeter and McCall added: “We were authors of our downfall, as we weren’t smart or intelligent, and chucked the game away.
“There was a lot of effort from us, but it was ultimately wasted effort and the defeat was self-inflicted.
