Jonny Wilkinson Names His Four Greatest Teammates In Legendary Career

Jonny Wilkinson has named his five greatest teammates and a South African powerhouse has managed to make it in.

The fly-half is one of English rugby’s most successful playmakers and he’s best known for scoring the drop-goal to win the 2003 Rugby World Cup.

However, putting England teammates aside, it’ll come as no surprise that two of his picks will come from his time with Newcastle Falcons where he spent the majority of his career.

The 43-year-old told Sky Sports which teammates he most enjoyed playing with.

#1. Garry Armstrong

  • Player together for: Newcastle Falcons
  • Position: Scrum-half
  • Did you know? He was a lorry driver

Wilkinson said: “The sheer aggression and resilience of the guy, his sheer character meant that anything, any ball that wasn’t good enough to go out to the number ten was never going to go out to the number ten. He would deal with everything himself and that meant control of the game”
