LIONS LATEST

15 Liam Williams The Welsh wizard launched one of the greatest tries at Eden Park after wrongfooting Kieran Read. Skilled with the ball in hand, committed in the air and not afraid to mix it at the breakdown. One mistake in the second half but nailed on for the second Test.  8/10
14 Anthony Watson He worked well within a well organised back three, carrying strongly. 6.5/10
13 Jonathan Davies The Welsh powerhouse carried six times for 69 metres. Also beat more players and had more clean breaks than any other Lion. 7/10
12 Ben Te’o Dealt with Sonny Bill Williams, making one bone-crunching tackle imparticular in the second half. Carried a lot but wasn’t quite as effective going forward as in previous games. 7/10
11 Elliot Daly He is neat in everything he does. Fantastic stutter in the build up to the O’Brien try. Didn’t see as much of him in the second half. 7/10
10 Owen Farrell Not his best game. He can’t be missing those sort of kicks against the All Blacks. 6/10
9 Conor Murray Mr Perpetual motion, set perfect tempo and Lions danced to his tune. Very good again. Replaced by Rhys Webb who grabbed a late consolation try for the Lions. 7.5/10
8 Taulupe Faletau Excellent carrying and strong defence. A bit quiet overall though. 6/10
7 Sean O’Brien Put down another significant marker and finished off a try that will live long in Lions fans memory. 7.5/10
6 Peter O’Mahony (c) The captain on the day brought a steely attitude before he was replaced. Things quickly went downhill after he left the field. 7/10
5 George Kruis Made an immense effort defensively, putting in 16 tackles. Also safe as the Bank of England in the lineout, making a key steal. 6/10
4 Alun Wyn Jones Selected ahead of Maro Itoje and it was difficult to see why. Removed from the action after just 47 minutes. 5/10
3 Tadgh Furlong An absolute tank in the close quarter exchanges. One silly offload in the first half. 6/10
2 Jamie George Solid at the line-out but compared to Codie Taylor was ineffective in the loose. Also put in a big shift defensively, making 17 tackles. 6/10
1 Mako Vunipola Tackled with bravado and seemed to be everywhere when his fellow front-rowers were nowhere. Replaced by Jack McGrath after 52 minutes. 6.5/10
