LIST: Three Lions injury doubts - and most likely replacements

Lions coach Warren Gatland will be sweating on more injury concerns after a number of players limped out of matches over the weekend with one star already ruled out.

Porter's Lions tour is over before it even began after the Dubliner suffered a toe injury in Leinster's Guinness PRO14 defeat to Glasgow Warriors.

The powerful, dynamic Porter earned his call-up with a series of strong displays as a starter when Tadhg Furlong was out injured, while his big impact off the bench caught Warren Gatland's eye.

Chances of being ruled out: RULED OUT

Replacement: Kyle Sinckler (England)

The decision to leave Sinckler out caused a major shock, as Scot Zander Fagerson got the nod along with Furlong and Porter.

The England star came off the bench in all three Tests four years ago in New Zealand and was a star of Eddie Jones' side's run to the World Cup final in Japan, before getting injured minutes into the defeat to South Africa.

The Chiefs No 8 went off during the second half of Exeter's thrilling 29-26 Gallagher Premiership victory over 14-man Northampton at Franklin's Gardens. He had ice applied to his ankle.

"He won't want to be cotton wool-wrapped for the Lions, and we don't know the extent of the injury at all," said Chiefs Director of Rugby Rob Baxter.

Chances of being ruled out: Low

Most likely replacement: Billy Vunipola (England)

The one Saracen whose lack of form in the Six Nations came back to haunt him, with Simmonds chosen ahead of him. It was a cruel blow for Vunipola after he missed out on the 2017 tour through injury, although not an enormous surprise.

Northampton and Wales fly-half Biggar - also went off in the second half against Exeter Chiefs after taking a knock to his chest, although that was thought to be purely precautionary.

He limped off after on the hour mark, picking up an chest injury in the build-up to Mike Haywood's try. 

His club confirmed afterwards it was a pectoral injury but added it was not serious.

Chances of being ruled out: Low

Most likely replacement: Marcus Smith (England)

Smith already received a long-list letter and you would back him to be involved with England this summer, and perhaps later on with the Lions too in South Africa.
