There were plenty of standout stars for the Lions against Japan – but these three players did their chances of earning a test jersey no favours.

#1. Conor Murray

Wales Online: “Got isolated during the Lions’ first attack in the Japan 22, which resulted in a turnover and the chance went begging. Charged down after Adams’ try and had to be bailed out by Biggar. Kicked out on the full. Passed well but will want to be more polished on tour.”

RugbyPass: Will have been annoyed to get pinged after getting isolated five metres out from the Japanese line and was caught flat-footed by an electric Matsushima break just before halftime.
