Freddie Burns contributed 16 points to help Leicester get their campaign back on track by overcoming Racing 92 at Welford Road in the Champions Cup on Sunday.

Brendon O’Connor scored an early try for the hosts but Dan Carter replied with a fine solo effort in the second half.

Burns replaced Owen Williams after 53 minutes and kicked two penalties before scoring an interception try.

A Juan Imhoff try looked to have given the French side a losing bonus point but a Burns penalty late on cancelled it out.
