Louis Rees-Zammit appeared to aim a cheeky dig at Henry Pollock after scoring for Bristol Bears against Northampton Saints at Ashton Gate.
The Wales speedster crossed during Saturday afternoon’s PREM clash, finishing off a sustained spell of Bristol pressure.
Northampton struggled to find a way out of their own territory, with Bristol playing through a series of advantages before eventually moving the ball wide.
Rees-Zammit was waiting on the right and made no mistake with the finish, going over to extend Bristol’s advantage.
But it was what happened immediately afterwards that really caught the eye.

Rees-Zammit copies Pollock celebration

After touching down, Rees-Zammit performed the now-famous ‘pulse check’ celebration associated with Northampton star Pollock.
The England back-rower has regularly used the gesture after scoring, placing his fingers against his neck as if checking his heart rate.
Pollock has previously explained the story behind his trademark celebration, revealing that Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot provided the inspiration.
It has since become closely associated with the Saints youngster – and Rees-Zammit is not the first opponent to turn it back on him.
Bordeaux powerhouse Tevita Tatafu copied Pollock's celebration after beating Northampton in the Champions Cup final.
Rees-Zammit pulling out the celebration while playing against Pollock's own Northampton side therefore appeared to be a deliberate bit of trolling.
There has, however, been no confirmation from Rees-Zammit that the gesture was aimed directly at the England international.

Fans react to LRZ celebration

The moment quickly got supporters talking on social media.
One fan joked: “LRZ doing the Pollock celebration against Northampton is outrageous.”
Another wrote: “Scoring against Saints and hitting the pulse check. Elite trolling.”
A third added: “Henry Pollock has definitely seen that one.”
