REPORTS: Jonny May could be set to leave Gloucester

Jonny May has been sounded out about a potential move to Japan despite being under contract at Gloucester until after the 2023 World Cup, according to The Rugby Paper.

The England winger rejoined the Cherry and Whites on a year contract last July but then extended his deal before officially moving back to the West Country.

May, who has scored 33 tries in 66 international appearances, is a target for a couple of Japanese Top League outfits who are desperate to obtain his signature as soon as possible.

The 31-year-old is believed to want to fight for his England place, but if he falls out of favour would entertain a move away with American sides also interested.

Here are four other England players linked with moves away during the summer.

#1. Jonathan Joseph

The Rugby Paper reported at the start of May that the England and British Lions centre was in talks with Toulon about a switch to the Côte d’Azur this summer.

The deal appeared to be done when last weekend the former Top 14 and European champions announced the signing on their website only to take down the post minutes later.
