2026 Women's Six Nations: Team of the Tournament

The Red Roses continue to stake their claim towards history's greatest ever women's test side, having claimed their eighth consecutive Six Nations title. This also marked a fifth Grand Slam in a row for John Mitchell's side, as England extended their astonishing run of test victories to 37 in a row.

It was another record-breaking Women's Six Nations, with fantastic attendances witnessed across all of the competing nations. Record-breaking fever began from the very first round, as England hosted Ireland at the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham to set a new attendance record for the championship with 77,120 packed into the ground known to locals as HQ.

The Red Roses then took their show on the road to North of the border, and helped set a new women's sport attendance record in Scotland. The clash with the Scots saw 30,498 pack into Murrayfield, as the tournament kept the turnstiles spinning. Italy and Ireland also witnessed record numbers of spectators for their respective women's matches, in what was another barn-storming season in the competition. As England's rule of dominance continues, here's our picks for the Team of the Tournament for the 2026 Guinness Women's Six Nations.

Whilst it may come as little surprise, a spoiler warning is in play to expect plenty of France and England players throughout the Team of the Tournament. Pauline Barrat gets us underway as our first entrant from Les Bleus, as the flying fullback ended the tournament atop carrying charts with 84 contributions with the ball-in-hand. The Toulouse sensation also made the second most metres out of the entire tournament, with 553 in total. The fullback also bagged five assists throughout the campaign, for a stunning effort.

Next up from France is the hot-stepping wing Lea Murie, who was also a tremendous threat upon the front foot. Finishing third in the carrying charts behind Pauline Barrat and a soon to mention England star, Murie tops the charts for the average metres made per carry, as the wing racked 11 metres upon every single touch of the ball. The Toulouse speedster also made the second most clean line breaks out of any player in the Championship, as France once again collected silver medals to the triumphant England.

Our first from the Red Roses comes in the form of the enigmatic Megan Jones. The Trailfinders centre was in the hot-seat throughout the Championship, having been promoted up to the realms of England captain with regular skipper Zoe Stratford unavailable with pregnancy. Jones was her regular phenomenal self in the tournament, as the midfielder ended the campaign atop the players beaten charts with 25. The centre also contributed four assists to the Red Roses, as John Mitchell entrusted her with the reins.

Coming into the midfield births alongside Jones, Aubane Rousset gets the go-ahead for the number 12 jersey. The midfielder was just as tactically astute as her new-found centre pairing, and blitzed her way past 16 defenders in total throughout a barn-storming campaign. The Stade Bordelais centre took on all comers with a powerful first step into contact, and coupled this with a solid distribution rate to bring in the flying outside backs and powerful French forward pack.

Despite making the positional shift from full-back and out wide to the wing, there was little phasing Ellie Kildunne for the 2026 Women's Six Nations. The former World Rugby Player of the Year was in her usual dynamic form, and could not be contained across the championship. The Harlequin raced away to top the carried metres charts with a breathless 623m across 77 carries, topped the offloads with 10, and finished sixth in the try-scoring ranks following five trips across the Six Nations whitewash. Tremendous once again from the iconic Red Rose.

Whilst the likes of Megan Jones and Ellie Kildunne were ones re-played throughout the plentiful Red Roses' highlight reels, Zoe Harrison was the no-nonsense linchpin of the back-line. England click into a different gear with the Saracen at the helm, who kept the score-board ticking over with 29 successful kicks - considerably the best of the entire tournament, with Dannah O'Brien in second with 19. Harrison was masterful in charge of the England team, and added another winners' medal to her collection.

We add our first non English or French player into the Team of the Tournament, with Wales' Kiera Bevan our pick for the scrum-half spot. Despite fine competition from Pauline Bourdon-Sanus of Les Bleus, Bevan was the heart-beat of a transitional Welsh side, who continue to improve despite a disappointing run of results. Undeniably proud to play for her nation with 'heart-on-the-sleeve' defending against far bigger and powerful opponents, Bevan gets commended for her grit and determination to lead a Wales side, that could well have capitulated in dejection.

In a similar fettle to Kiera Bevan getting Wales on the map for our Team of the Tournament, we move onto the forward pack with our sole contributor from Italy. Loose-head prop Silvia Turani was one of the Azzurri's stand-out performers, as the prop led her side's charts for dominant carries into contact and finished third in that rating overall (with seven). The Harlequins front row will soon be back mixing it up with her Six Nations rivals in the PWR, and laid the ground-work for the wins over Wales and Scotland.

One thing that has made Amy Cokayne such a cult hero, is that she brings the hard-nosed grit of her RAF back-ground into the fun-loving, TikTok-enthused Red Roses squad. Cokayne was her brilliant best yet again, with her stunning strike rate continuing upon the test match stage. The Sale hooker crossed for six tries - the second best of the whole championship - as England once again utilised their rolling maul as the fine-tuned weapon it's revered to be. Cokayne also topped the turnover charts with seven steals, and had the highest line-out success out of all the hookers, with a phenomenal 97.9% completion rate.

Partnering up with Cokayne and rounding off our front row, is Englwasand tight-head prop Sarah Bern. The Bristol Bears star is the opimity of a modern-day prop, as she couples her awesome set-piece work a thunderous carry and exhaustive engine around the park. Bern is the finished article when it comes to the elite women's game, as the tight-head bagged five tries in the championship, in what are simply unheard of numbers from a prop forward. Bristol fans will be excited to see their star back at Ashton Gate, after the brief return to the home stadium for the one-sided win over Wales.

With Emma Wassell added into our Team of the Week, we now rightfully have Scotland on the map for the 2026 Championship. The lock was a rock in defence for an admittedly struggling Scottish side, as the second row tirelessly cut down anything that ran down her channel. With 69 completed hits tallied up in the campaign, Wassell ends the tournament as Scotland's best tackler and the joint-fourth best overall. The Ealing Trailfinders star was arguably Scotland's most consistent performer, and returns to the PWR with plenty of bragging rights to retain from her international teammates.

Joining up with Wassell in the engine room for the 2026 Women's Six Nations Team of the Week, is the final entrant from the second-placed France team. Madoussou Fall-Raclot finished sixth overall for the carry count, and ended the tournament as France's most reliable forward on the front foot. The powerful lock backed up her game-breaking reputation with 26 dominant carries, in what was the best of the whole campaign. She also made eight dominant tackles on the defensive side of the ball, in a thunderous effort that saw the Bordeaux star also lead these stats.

There is plenty of gas left in the tank of former Red Roses captain Marlie Packer, who proved that she can still mix it up with the new England talents that put her spot under pressure. The legendary England back row enjoyed a blistering display of try-scoring throughout the championship, with seven tries seeing the beloved West Country star top the charts as the tournament's top try-scorer. Delivering her customary roar to each and every try, and leaving it all out on the pitch for lung-bursting efforts, Packer had a trade mark Six Nations campaign for England.

We close out our Team of the Tournament for the 2026 Women's Six Nations, with back-to-back entrants from Scott Bemand's Ireland team. Whilst there is no prizes for guessing who takes the number eight spot, we hand Erin King the reins to the open-side flank following a trailblazing effort in the seven jersey, King made the most successful tackles out of any player, with 80 completed hits accrued across an epic campaign. Ireland's resident terminator, Erin King also grabbed seven turnovers - joint highest alongside Amy Cokayne's efforts for England.

Our final spot for the team of the tournament goes to a real contender for the World Rugby Women's Player of the Year Award. Aiofe Wafer has continued to put in storming performances in green, and was at her very best throughout the latest championship. With five tries, Wafer finished fourth in the overall try-scoring statistics, and battered down the defenses as the top-carrying forward of the tournament (78 carries). Wafer also brings an impressive off-loading game to her arsenal, as the powerful back row is a real target, and unleashed her outside runners with nine off-loads. An awesome performance overall.
