We present to you a list of five sets of players that are related in the rugby world, and you probably didn't know it.
#1. Tom Curry and John Olver
The Curry twins are the nephews of former England hooker John Olver and cousins of former Northampton Saints fly-half Sam Olver, who is now at Ealing Trailfinders.
#2. Lagi Tuima & Akapusi Qera
Lagi is the niece of
Fiji and Gloucester legend Akapusi Qera, Tuima moved to England as a child. her younger brother, Rus, has been picked in England age group rugby teams and is on the books at
Exeter Chiefs. Her cousins include
Bath Rugby and
England international
Joe Cokanasiga and his younger brother, Phil Cokanasiga, who is at London Irish
#3. Ioan Nicholas & Nigel Owens
The cousin of legendary referee Nigel Owens became the youngest player to represent the Scarlets (17 years and 134 days) when he appeared in a pre-season friendly against Jersey in August 2015, making his Guinness Pro12 debut against Ulster the following month. A Wales U20s international at centre, Ioan has played most of his senior rugby for the Scarlets on the wing.
#4. John Ashworth & Brodie Retallick
Brodie, who has 82 caps for the All Blacks, won the Rugby World Cup in 2015 and was the winner of
World Rugby Player of the Year in 2014 and is the youngest ever winner of the award. His uncle, John, played 52 matches for the All Blacks between 1977 and 1985.
#5. Jacob Umaga & Jerry Collins
The Wasps and England fly-half, nephew of Tana Umaga, is also the cousin once removed to the late great All Black Jerry Collins. The 48-cap legend died on the morning of 5 June 2015, after losing control of their car and colliding with a bus.
