Wales legend Adam Jones is swapping the scrum for the streets of Cardiff as he prepares to take on the Cardiff Half Marathon for two causes close to his heart.
The former Wales and British & Irish Lions prop will tackle the 13.1-mile course on Sunday, 4 October, raising money for St David’s Hospice Care and Prostate Cymru.
Jones, affectionately known as “Bomb”, has already received fantastic backing, with his fundraising page showing £729 raised from 32 supporters.
Writing on his fundraising page, Jones admitted the distance will provide a serious test.
“Quite the challenge as obviously I’m not cut out for running that far!”
He added: “Please support by clicking on the link to donate!”
A fantastic cause
St David’s Hospice Care provides free community-based hospice care for people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses across Gwent and Mid/South Powys.
The charity helps patients and their families at an incredibly difficult time, giving people greater choice over where they receive care and spend their final days.
Jones is also supporting Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate health charity in Wales, which works to raise awareness and support men affected by prostate disease and prostate cancer.
The Cardiff Half Marathon takes place on 4 October 2026, meaning the 95-cap Wales great still has a few weeks of training ahead before taking on his latest challenge.
And judging by his own assessment, the famously powerful former tighthead might find 13.1 miles a little different to 80 minutes in the front row.
