Harlequins have secured one of English rugby’s brightest young forwards, with Chandler Cunningham-South signing a new multi-year deal at The Stoop.

The 22-year-old back-rower — who can also cover second row — has quickly become a key figure for both club and country. Since joining from London Irish in 2023, Chandler has racked up 35 appearances for Harlequins and already earned 18 England caps under Steve Borthwick.

Standing 6ft 5in, Cunningham-South is a nightmare for opposition forwards: destructive in ball-carries, uncompromising in defence, and increasingly influential at the lineout, with three steals in the opening three Gallagher Premiership rounds this season.

“I’m delighted to be re-signing with the Club — it feels good,” said Chandler. “There’s so much more to come from us as a team, and I want to be part of that. The coaches, Gilly and Boothy, have helped me massively. I’m feeling more comfortable on the pitch and determined to keep improving week in, week out.”

Harlequins Senior Coach Jason Gilmore added: “Chandler has all the raw qualities to make an impact at the highest level.

"He’s focused on developing his all-round game — defence, set-piece, attack — and he’s preparing thoroughly each week. We’re excited to see him continue to make a consistent impact at Harlequins for seasons to come.”
