Connacht's Redeveloped Dexcom Stadium to host Ireland match in 2026 Six Nations

The fixture marks a landmark moment for women’s rugby in the province. It will be the first senior Ireland Women’s match played in Connacht in nearly 20 years, the last coming in 2006 when Ireland faced Canada at the old Sportsground.

Since then, Dexcom Stadium has undergone a major redevelopment, transforming the venue into a modern, high-performance rugby arena. The upgraded facilities, improved seating, and enhanced matchday infrastructure have made it a fitting stage for top-tier international rugby and a significant boost for the women’s game in the west.

This will also be the first time in history that a Women’s Six Nations match is played in Connacht—an occasion that promises to be a milestone for players, supporters and the development of the sport across the region. The fourth round of the competition then takes the Ireland team up to the Affidea Stadium in Belfast to face Wales, before ending their campaign at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
