Conor Murray confirms next move following Munster departure

Ireland and Munster stalwart Conor Murray will be part of Virgin Media Television’s rugby coverage for the upcoming Guinness Six Nations, adding serious pedigree to their studio panel.
One of the most influential scrum-halves of the professional era, Murray enjoyed a glittering international career with Ireland, winning five Six Nations titles, including two Grand Slams. Renowned for his tactical kicking, game management and big-match temperament, he remains one of the most decorated players to wear green.

At provincial level, Murray has been a cornerstone of Munster Rugby for over a decade, earning more than 200 caps for the province and captaining the side on numerous occasions. He also toured with the British & Irish Lions in 2013, 2017 and 2021, starting all three Tests against the All Blacks in New Zealand — a rare achievement.
Having only recently stepped away from international rugby, Murray brings a current-player perspective to Virgin Media’s coverage, with deep insight into Ireland’s evolving game model and the demands of elite Test rugby.
Virgin Media Television’s Head of Sport Brian Gleeson welcomed the appointment, highlighting the value of Murray’s experience.
