England have won the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup after a barnstorming triumph over Canada at Twickenham’s Allianz Stadium.

The Red Roses are crowned world champions for the third time in their history, sealing a dominant 33–13 victory at the home of English rugby.

15. ELLIE KILDUNNE — 9

Received a resounding ovation before even touching the ball, such is the superstardom of Ellie Kildunne. Made an early covering tackle on Alysha Corrigan to stop a threatening Canadian break. Scored an incredible solo try at seven minutes, exploding past multiple defenders. Brilliant under the high ball, Kildunne was a human highlight reel with her kick returns.

14. ABBY DOW — 6.5

Quick on the kick-chase in pursuit of Tatyana Heard’s kick downfield, piling pressure on Canada’s back three. Went head-to-head with Asia Hogan-Rochester in the touchline battle, trading wins throughout the match. Not as eye-catching as Kildunne, but put in a strong shift against Canada’s brightest spark.

13. MEGAN JONES — 8

Excellent link play in midfield to unleash England’s back-three flyers at full pace. Embodied her inner forward with head tape and relentless ruck work, including some powerful clear-outs. An uncharacteristic dropped ball at 37 minutes halted a flowing attack, but Jones’s energy never dipped. Led the celebrations after a costly Canadian knock-on when England defended their line with 14 players at 58 minutes.

12. TATYANA HEARD (OFF 66’) — 7.5

Thrust into the match from an inch-perfect line-out overthrow, powering through with a colossal carry. Made a 21st-minute intercept and kicked downfield to pile pressure on Canada. Played some excellent offload passes to keep the ball alive, often creating something from nothing for the Red Roses’ backline.

11. JESS BREACH (OFF 58’, 66’) — 6

Made a great break down the left wing at 11 minutes as England attacked with momentum. Linked up nicely with Kildunne to cut back infield and target the posts. Subbed off for replacement prop Kelsey Clifford while England managed Botterman’s sin-bin. Returned briefly to serve Botterman’s remaining minutes.

10. ZOE HARRISON — 7.5

Started strong from the tee, slotting the conversion after Kildunne’s try. Showed sharp game management to keep England’s attack composed and structured. Cool-headed with every touch, Harrison steered the ship masterfully. Cleared England’s lines early in the second half under line-out pressure.

9. NATASHA HUNT (OFF 60’) — 7

Directed England’s attack at a venomous tempo, forcing the pack to match her speed. Offloaded neatly to Alex Matthews for England’s third try.

1. HANNAH BOTTERMAN (OFF 58’) — 8

Dominant early at the scrum. Won a huge breakdown turnover at 35 minutes and roared with delight after another just before half-time. Ever-present in the first 40, despite later medical attention. A near-perfect evening was marred by a yellow card for a dangerous ruck clear-out.

2. AMY COKAYNE (OFF 60’) — 8

Recovered well after an early line-out mishap that led to Canada’s try. Anchored England’s scrum, including a huge 10th-minute shove. Scored from a rolling maul at 18 minutes. Conceded a penalty for not releasing, and later had a try ruled out for obstruction from Maud Muir.

3. MAUD MUIR (OFF 60’) — 7.5

Assertive in the scrum as England dominated early. Produced offloads to keep play alive. Held up near the line at 22 minutes. Penalised for obstruction at a rolling maul. Each carry was cheered as the tighthead drove forward with power and intent.

4. MORWENNA TALLING (OFF 69’) — 7

A tireless chop-tackling workhorse in the engine room. Constantly on the latch to power England’s front row through the Canadian defence.

5. ABBIE WARD (OFF 69’) — 7.5

Denied England a try at 12 minutes with the faintest fingertip touch. Commanded the line-out superbly. Scored with a close-range drive after Matthews’s pressure forced Canada back.

6. ZOE ALDCROFT — 7.5

Captained England with grit and intelligence. Chopped down Canadian carriers and worked tirelessly at the breakdown. Stole possession brilliantly at 31 minutes on her own try-line.

7. SADIA KABEYA — 8.5

Kabeya was often sent out to defend with the backs, or launch a counter-attack from the midfield, such is the ball-playing versatility of the back row. Carried like a human wrecking ball off the back of the line-out and always made yards. A 44th minute charge was turned over, as there was no support for the Loughborough Lightning star. Dutifully awarded the Player of the Match for her tireless efforts.

8. ALEX MATTHEWS — 10

Immediately impactful at the breakdown. Lost an early line-out that led to Canada’s opening try but more than redeemed herself. Scored in the first half after supporting Hunt. Carried powerfully from the base of the scrum, setting up Ward’s try. Crossed again late on as England took control. Flawless performance from the two-time World Cup winner.
